Impressions

An experience that combines physical experiences plus two different digital platforms, working together to motivate the moms of a NICU baby into being physically active; projected from the start of their hospital stay all the way to home. The system is created to target the major paint points of our user, which include lack of motivation, stress, and lack of control.

We started this project by trying to find out as much information that we could about our audience through researching the specific types of changes that becoming pregnant take on your body and to your routine. That led us to further narrow down our target audience by focusing on the later parts of pregnancy and finally settling for post-partum. Though not the easiest choice, we saw a need for innovations to be created for mothers that had had challenging births, especially those who had children in the NICU. We wanted to create a system of innovations that was able to target some of the major pain points throughout those specific situations and give them a series of experiences that would help them to focus on themselves. Part of our objective was to not only make the mother mentally and bodily healthy but have them remember that if they took care of themselves it would positively impact those around them as well –i.e. their baby.

A system that focuses on creating an impactful and lasting experience towards the mom, specifically, of a NICU baby that targets both their mental and physical health throughout their entire journey; done through a digital interface that is recognizable and easy to navigate, in both an integrated in-house app system that transitions into a phone app, combined with a live-stream locket.
